A woman was arrested on charges of assault after allegedly cutting her husband’s face because he urinated on the bathroom floor, police in Montana said.
Billings Police said that they arrested 52-year-old Shery Lynn Downs, also known as Shery Lynn Brooks, after being accused of cutting her husband's face on Tuesday.
Downs was arrested after officers were called to her residence around 7:30 p.m. Officers at the scene said that her 68-year-old husband was sitting on the front steps with a blood-soaked towel on the face.
He told officers that his wife had cut him and she was in her bedroom. Officers entered the residence and found blood on the floor of the room and drops of blood leading to a bedroom.
Later, she said that her husband had been causing problems all day, as he urinated on the floor and lied to a cable company to obtain service. While being treated at a hospital, the husband said that his wife had been angry with him all day because he had urinated on the bathroom floor.
The man said he was in his bedroom when his wife came twice with a knife and threatened to cut him. The man said that the second time she entered the room she cut his face with a knife.
The man suffered a cut that was several inches long. The injury requires special facial surgery to repair.
