It is widely believed both here and in Italy that former Man City striker Balotelli will leave the San Siro, with Arsenal in pole position to sign the 23-year-old.
A good chance of Balo to Blighty
Mirror journalist John Cross told talkSPORT that if Arsenal are willing to pay Milan £25m, then there is “a good chance a deal can be done,” he said. Cross also added: “Mario wants to come back to the Premier League and AC Milan need the money,” insisting that his troublesome reputation will have no bearing and claimed Arsene Wenger has managed to get the best out of those types of players in the past.
Balotelli not irreplaceable
Milan vice-president Barbara Berlusconi seemed to confirm he is off. She told the club's official website that while she acknowledges Balotelli is a “great player”, nobody is irreplaceable.
Napoli hijack deal
There are rumours that Balotelli is being lined up by Napoli should Rafa Benitez lose Gonzalo Higuain to Barcelona as has been reported. Milan need funds and apparently Napoli could offer midfielder Blerim Dzemaili and bring the fee for Balotelli down from €30m to €23m. They also claim the Italy striker does not fit into new Milan manager Filippo Inzaghi's plans to play 4-3-3.
Give us Joel Campbell and you've got a deal
Tuttosport also carry reports that Milan could accept an Arsenal player in order to reduce the cost of Balotelli to the Gunners. The Italians are said to be keen on Costa Rica forward Joel Campbell, who spent last season on loan at Olympiakos from Arsenal.
Wenger met Balotelli's agent
According to the Daily Star, Wenger met Balotelli's agent Mino Raiola in Brazil to discuss the player's personal terms. A £150,000-a-week deal is apparently being sought
