Arsenal Target Set For Real Madrid Switch?

The agent of Paris Saint-Germain star Marco Verratti has made contact with Real Madrid regarding the possibility of a move to the Spanish capital, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Verratti, who has been linked with a move to Arsenal, was a key part of the PSG side which won Ligue 1 last season and his performances saw him named in Italy’s 23-man squad for this summer’s World Cup.

The French club are set to sign David Luiz from Chelsea and it is thought that Real Madrid are hoping to take advantage of PSG’s need to balance their books.

The Ligue 1 champions have already been punished by UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations and may have to sell players to bring more in.

Verratti played under Carlo Ancelotti when he was manager of PSG during the 2012/13 season and it is thought that the Real Madrid boss is keen to bring him to the Bernabeu this summer.

The sale of Verratti could allow PSG to continue their pursuit of Chelsea's Eden Hazard, a player they have been tracking for several months.
