A 91-year-old woman, Janina Kolkiewicz, in Poland has risen from the dead, after being declared lifeless 11 hours prior.
Janina Kolkiewicz was declared dead by local medics in a small town of Ostrow Lubelski in eastern Poland. She reportedly had no pulse, was not breathing and her eyes were not reacting to light.
After being taken to the morgue, on Tuesday, November 6, the woman to the astonishment of the morgue workers woke up 11 hours after, inside a body bag in the cold chamber of the local morgue.
According to the report of a local newspaper, Janina Kolkiewicz woke up with a huge appetite; she was fed with soup and pancakes.
"I was sure she was dead," Kolkiewicz’s doctor, Wieslawa Czyz, who has 28 years of medical practice, told TVP. "I'm stunned, I don't understand what happened. Her heart had stopped beating, she was no longer breathing."
Kolkiewicz has no children and was never married. Her niece has been taking care of the old woman in her old age.
Police have launched an investigation into the case.
