Luis Suarez 'Wants To Come To Barca' And Alexis Sanchez Is The Key

No Liverpool supporter will be surprised about the news that Barcelona are interested in signing Luis Suarez. Reds are well accustomed to other clubs chasing their biggest star, and after matching Cristiano Ronaldo in the European Golden Shoe ranking
, then outperforming the Portuguese at the World Cup so far, it’s inevitable that the number seven will be the talk of the summer. talkSPORT takes a look at the latest on the stories linking the Uruguayan with the Camp Nou…

Luis Suarez 'wants to come to Barca'
It wouldn’t be a normal summer in Barcelona without Mundo Deportivo leading the publicity campaign for Barca’s next signing, and Luis Suarez is no exception.

Today, the Catalan daily’s front page leads with ‘Luis Suarez wants to come to Barca’, adding that the Camp Nou ‘is his dream destination now that he has decided to leave Anfield’ and that he ‘refuses to continue in the Premier League to avoid facing Liverpool and only sees himself playing in La Liga’.

Inside the article, Mundo Deportivo reiterate that Barcelona is the striker’s ‘clear first choice’ this summer, as the club ‘marries all the conditions he is looking for in order to take a big step up in his career and challenge for the big titles he lacks’.

MD elaborate that Suarez is excited by the new project at Barcelona under Luis Enrique, which promises to see a ‘profound remodelling’ of the squad.

They also note the importance of the much talked about presence of his wife Sofia’s family in Castelldefels (just south of Barcelona), where the player himself has vacationed on various occasions.

MD also highlight that one of the Liverpool man’s best friends is Barcelona Champions League-winner Gabri, with whom he played at Ajax.

Finally, Mundo Deportivo note that Alexis Sanchez – who Barcelona are looking to sell this summer – is one of Brendan Rodgers’ favoured targets this summer, and the Chilean could reduce the cost of Suarez by €30m.

The Uruguayan sees La Liga as a good option in terms of meeting his desire to take a step up competitively while at the same time avoiding direct confrontation with Liverpool, according to the paper.

Alexis Sanchez key
Catalan radio broadcaster Gerard Romero (who has interviewed Luis Suarez in the past) agrees with Mundo Deportivo, insisting that Alexis Sanchez is ‘one of the keys to the possible transfer’. Romero adds that ‘a big fee as well as the Chilean would make it possible’.

He explains that talks between Barcelona and Pere Guardiola over Villarreal youngster Juan Camara were the starting point for a possible Suarez transfer, and while Real Madrid have been working on a move for the striker for over a year, it’s worth ‘keeping the will of the player in mind’.
