Goods and property estimated at about N1 billion were yesterday consumed by a raging fire that gutted a two-storey building at Lobo Extension, Owerri.
Although no life was lost in the incident, Vanguard gathered that the traders who owned foam shops were in their respective residences and most occupants of the building had left for Sunday service when the fire started.
A Volvo station wagon vehicle, vital documents, including certificates and archival artifacts, were reportedly lost in the inferno, while many were seen weeping uncontrollably, bemoaning their fate.
