Nick Cannon confirms “there is trouble in paradise” amidst rumors that a divorce is imminent between him and his wife of six years, Mariah Carey. “We have been living in separate houses for a few months,” the “America’s Got Talent” host revealed to The Insider With Yahoo.
Nick, 33, didn’t specify the reason why they grew apart, but he denied infidelity rumor. “My main focus is my kids,” he said of their 3-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe.
Rumor has it, 44-year-old Mariah flipped out after Nick revealed a list of his past lovers during a candid interview with Power 106 radio. “Are you kidding me this is L.A.? That’s the whole purpose of it, you have sex with actresses, singers, models,” he said back then.
‘That’s easy. OK, Mariah Carey, Christina Milian, Nicole Scherzinger, Selita Ebanks, oh, Kim Kardashian,” he said when asked to name five of the famous women he had bedded. Of Kim, he quipped, “You just forgot (about her) because there have been a lot of people since me.”
Mariah reportedly felt “humiliated” by the interview during which he also revealed when he first had sex with her. He said they waited until their wedding night to do it.
In an interview a week later, Nick tried to backtrack on his comments and praised his wife. “She doesn’t even know who Kim Kardashian is. She doesn’t pay attention to that,” he said. “She doesn’t care when I talk about our sex life because our sex life is amazing.”
Nick’s TMI interview was not the only problem that reportedly rocked his marriage with the singer. His hectic schedule also played a part in their separation. “They have been living apart for a while. This is not all of a sudden. There have been issues between them for a while. They are not getting along,” a source told E! News.
