7 Good Reasons to Pray for Your Spouse

Life is a battlefield, and so are the pressures of marriage. Praying changes lives, can offer protection, and hope, regardless if you can see it or not. Try these seven suggestions on how to pray for your spouse for their spiritual and their physical well-being.

Peace
Pray for peace of mind and that the Lord would give your loved one favor during their day.

Making Decisions
We never know when decisions and challenges arise, and praying can change the spiritual and natural atmosphere.

Temptation
There are many battles we go through in the mind. Praying for protection against temptation, strife, and jealousy is a key to spiritual health.

Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit
Pray that your spouse will have the sensitivity to the Holy Spirit and to view the day through God’s lens.

Good Health and Protection

Pray that God will protect your spouse from illness, harm and give them traveling mercies.

Follow Jesus
Jesus interceded on our behalf, and it is important that we follow His model in praying for our spouse.

Offer Petitions and Prayer
1 Timothy 2:1-2 said that we need to offer petitions, prayer and give thanks so we may live quiet lives. This includes our community, nations, and of course, our spouses.

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people--for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”
